Andrew Bailey is an eccentric, hard case, Southerner and subsequent founder of Misty Cove. Much like his wine Andrew matured (to an extent) into a man who loves life, great times and most of all, viticulture. Spending his summers growing up in Marlborough fostered a passion for the misty coves of the Marlborough sounds. So much so, he decided to name is wine after them and establish his winery in this bloody beautiful region.

It is often said that wine takes on the characteristics of the personalities surrounding it. For Misty Cove, this truism has seen it ripen and mature from a humble family founded company, into the full-bodied, loveable rascal it has become. Misty Cove distills this elaborate sounding mystique, into what they like to think as some very special vintages indeed.

Misty Cove doesn’t get overly caught up in the ‘faint hint of autumn leaves’ or ‘delicate plum overtures’ or even ‘crisp winter grass'. They prefer to focus on producing great wine for optimum enjoyment, which should quite frankly always be consumed with a group of like-minded mates.

Don’t worry, they don’t completely neglect the autumn leaves and plums either, they simply prefer to let the awards they win speak on their behalf, while they concentrate on what actually goes into the bottle. For Misty Cove, working to produce top wines that are made for ample enjoyment at any occasion, with the best of company, is the essence of the brand. They suggest leaving those tedious types who spoil your night with pompous pontificating at home, as Misty Cove quite simply is, the wine for good times.
