The territory of the 15 Municipalities between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, north of the province of Treviso, 50 km from Venice and the Eastern Dolomites, is a hilly landscape of seductive beauty in which the alternation of gentle slopes and steep slopes marks the thick plot of rows of country houses, ancient villages and priceless artistic beauties that dominate and characterize this area of the Alta Marca Trevigiana, for centuries dedicated to the great wine tradition and today a candidate to become world heritage of humanity protected by UNESCO.

The particularity of the climate, the composition and the slope of the land, the shapes and the stories of its hills have given life and personality to a wine that the work, the entrepreneurial skill and the technical know-how of man have brought here to his high value.
It is on these hills where the glera, the basic vine of Prosecco, thrives and takes on the many nuances and richest expressions determined by the many variations of the soils, inclinations, exposures and microclimates of the area.

The temperate climate of the area, determined by the natural protection of the Alps to the north and by the action of the Adriatic Sea to the south with warm sirocco winds and the precious summer rains; the strong temperature variations between day and night and the dry bora winds at the end of summer from the east; the clayey-silty texture of alluvial soils, with the rich supply of minerals and microelements and the good drainage of the soil, create the ideal environment for the cultivation of varieties suitable for the production of Prosecco .

The basic vine is Glera , an ancient autochthonous white grape variety already known in Roman times, with large, long clusters and golden-yellow berries, originally from the Karst hills and more precisely from the Prosecco area . Hence the cultivation of Glera has developed in the Friulian hills of Friuli, and in particular on the gentle slopes of the Treviso hills, where the Proseccohas found its terroir of excellence, to extend later to the plains in the province of Treviso and then in the other provinces of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The special mentions "Treviso" and "Trieste", possible when the grape harvesting, processing and bottling of the wine take place within the two provinces, highlight the importance and peculiarities of the two territories in the history of this extraordinary and inimitable wine.
